Tennis Canada announced the creation of an
interactive online program called Topspin Radio. Web cast live from
Rexall Centre in Toronto, Topspin Radio begins June 11 and will run
every Monday at 12:30 p.m. The first show will feature world-renown
tennis personality Anna Kournikova along with new Rogers Cup tournament
director Karl Hale. Viewers simply visit rogerscup.com or
tenniscanada.com and click on the Topspin Radio icon. Fans will have the
opportunity to be a part of the program and ask questions to guests by
calling 1-88-TOP-SPIN-0 (888-677-7460) or email topspin@tenniscanada.com.
"Topspin Radio is an exciting new initiative for tennis fans throughout
Canada,” expressed Michael S. Downey, president and chief executive
officer, Tennis Canada. “Bringing a weekly program to desktops of
Canadians showcases the dedication that our organization has towards
bringing more tennis to our country. Tennis Canada is committed to the
expansion of new media initiatives with additional programming scheduled
in the coming weeks."
One of the most talked-about athletes, Kournikova will be coming to
Toronto this summer as part of the Rogers Cup Tennis Legends presented
by Acura, an exhibition during Opening Night with John McEnroe, Jim
Courier and Carling Bassett-Seguso.
Weekly topics on Topspin Radio will include stories from around the
tours, industry news and the latest tennis gossip. Tennis Canada has
taken the initiative to provide fans with more tennis content with plans
to offer similar programming each day on site during Rogers Cup
presented by American Express from August 11-19, 2007.
