Back in June Daily Tennis News ran a story about Tad Lindstrom, a creative tennis magazine publisher in Phoenix, who has come up with an idea to offer support to people who want to publish their own tennis magazine but don’t know how.

Lindstrom called Daily Tennis News to say he has created a partnership with an organization in Las Vegas who launched their first issue last month. Lindstrom says he will be working with people in San Diego County and in Palm Springs, California who will be publishing their first issues in November.

Lindstrom began Sun Tennis 25 years ago and later sold it, only to repurchase the publication recently. He says this partnership arrangement is a perfect idea for regions, organizations, clubs, cities or individuals that are not getting the tennis news and publicity they want. They can do it themselves, with his help.

Lindstrom handles all production of the quarterly publication while the partner gathers the local news and sells advertising. All monies raised through subscription or advertising sales are kept by the partner. The local news and advertising of eight to 48 pages is inserted in the Sun Tennis national edition with a local cover. Lindstrom also assists with local news collection and distribution of the magazine.

As Lindstrom says, "This is one of the toughest businesses to start from scratch, but having a partner like us gives anyone a running start with immediate recognition.

“It's pretty simple really thanks to the internet, and bulk rates for printing, shipping, and marketing materials. We can print, ship, mail, and collect information from almost anywhere in world. Although our primary market is the Southwest United States, we could easily produce publications for anywhere in the world, and in any language for that matter."

“We have a great product,” says Lindstrom, "What makes us unique is that our publication is LOCAL. We feature LOCAL news and advertising with a national flair. We do something that the bigger national tennis publications can't do and that's providing in-depth LOCAL coverage. We love our local tennis and that has made us unique for 25 years!”
