In the
“Murray-Lendl” Combo, Things are Looking Okay
Andy
Murray and Ivan Lendl are perfectly satisfied to keep their coaching
relationships from getting too intense by working part-time together.
The Scot ranked fourth in the world has confirmed that while he won't
have Lendl in his corner at every event, the pair do keep in
communication.
"I speak to him after
every match," said Murray after going down in the weekend Dubai final to
Roger Federer. "I was never going to do the whole schedule with him."
Getting Ready for
Indian Wells
Daily
Tennis News mentioned last week that the Los Angeles Tennis Center-UCLA
is a popular place for pros to have some “hits.” And that was the case
on Monday, as World No. 1 Novak Djokovic and No. 8 Mardy Fish worked
out. For Fish, who lives near the Westwood campus, it was like playing
at his own court.
It’s On
to the US and Tough Masters Events
A
few nights ago Andy Murray was looking ahead with optimism despite going
down 7-5, 6-4 to Roger Federer in the Dubai Championships final. Both
the finalist and the champion were boarding planes in the emirate for
flights to the US - Federer to New York for Monday night’s exhibition
and Murray to Los Angeles.
The first Masters
1000 of the season is underway in the Californian desert at Indian Wells
and both men will be boosted by confidence in one form or another.
"Overall it was a good week," said Murray, who was riding a wave of
confidence after beating world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in a high-profile
semi-final.
Roddick
Had a Good Evening in New York
Andy
Roddick feels good after defeating Roger Federer in their
New York exhibition match. He defeated his long-time adversary 7-5,
7-6(7) before 18,000 fans.
Earlier on the exhibition card, Maria Sharapova defeated Caroline
Wozniacki 6-3, 6-4.
