Clijsters Loses in
Key Biscayne, But She Still Has Her Eye on Majors and Olympics
Despite
losing in the third round of the Miami Masters, Kim Clijsters is still
excitedly pointing much of her tennis season at the summer London
Olympics after missing her previous two chances at the Games.
Murray Promotes
Tennis to Check Players’ Hearts
Andy
Murray has been affected by the heart-scare drama which rocked the
English Premier League soccer at the weekend when a well-known player,
Fabrice Muamba, went down on field with a coronary problem which nearly
cost him his life.
Only prompt
intervention - two cardiac specialists came down from the stands -
prevented a tragedy on the pitch. And Murray thinks that tennis needs to
be aware of the danger which could strike even young, fit athletes like
the 23-year-old footballer, now resting in a hospital.
Djokovic Looking
Forward to Colorful Olympics Outfits
Novak
Djokovic expects to be delighted by the temporary suspension of the
traditional all-while attire rule when the Summer Olympic tennis event
is held at Wimbledon in August.
"The first thing that
comes on my mind is the color difference," said the Serb. "This is going
to be interesting to see, because we all know that Wimbledon has a long
tradition and history of all white on the court, dress code."
Raonic Injured in
Key Biscayne, but Looking Forward to Monte Carlo
Milos
Raonic will be ready for his next event in Monte Carlo from mid-April
after withdrawing from his Miami Masters match with Andy Murray after
rolling an ankle in practice.
Sharapova to Wear
Red for Olympics
Maria
Sharapova won't be wearing a white Nike dress at the London Olympics.
Even though the Olympics will be held at Wimbledon, which still enforces
a mostly all white rule, the All England club is not running the event
so the Russian diva will have her choice of colors.
"When we were going
over all the outfits for this year, it was just so strange to be going
from Wimbledon and two weeks later going back to the grass and I'm
wearing a red shirt," Sharapova said. "That will be quite unique."
