Another Injury Sidelines Clijsters

Kim Clijsters will be off court for another four weeks after being diagnosed with a hip muscle problem which affected her play at the Miami Masters.

 

 

 

Lendl to be Honored in Barcelona in April

Ivan Lendl will get the star treatment from the Barcelona Open when he travels to the clay court event next month to guide pupil Andy Murray. Lendl, 51, claimed the title in Spain's tennis capital in 1980 and 1981 and will hoping to help Murray to a breakthrough success at Catalonia.

 

 

WTA Players are Aware of Difference in Balls at Different Events

Maria Sharapova noted that every ball reacts differently in various types of weather, and also that equipment plays a part in how balls come off a player's strings.

"I think it all depends on the conditions in which you're playing with them," she said. "It just varies depending on if you're in dry conditions and humid conditions, if it's cold or warm outside."

 

Nadal Not Worried About Not Winning Tournaments Now

He may not have won a title since the French Open ten long months ago. But that minor detail is outwardly not a problem for Rafael Nadal, staying the course as second seed at the Miami Masters.

"That's not bothering me, I'm not gonna win in every tournament," Nadal said, putting a positive spin on his title drought. "I won't finish my career winning all the tournaments of the Tour."

 

Beach Tennis Continues its Growth Path

The ITF announced that the Bulgarian Tennis Federation will host the fourth ITF Beach Tennis World Championships in the Black Sea resort of Bourgas on 21-24 June.
