World No. 1 Victoria Azarenka was understandably sad to see her 2012 undefeated run come to an end as she lost 6-3, 6-3 in the quarter-finals of the Miami Masters to Marion Bartoli. But the Belarus player quickly put the loss into perspective after 26 straight wins since the start of January.

Maria Sharapova, the world's top earning women's athlete off court and endorses a slew of big companies, says that she is more comfortable on court than she off court on the red carpet.  "There is nothing more mortifying than the red carpet," she told reporters.

 

 

Harlem Junior Tennis Program to Celebrate 40th Anniversary

The score 40-Love represents a commanding lead in tennis, and for the Harlem Junior Tennis and Education Program, (HJTEP) “40-Love” represents the celebration of its 40th Anniversary in 2012. 

HJTEP’s year-long celebration kicks off with a Celebrity Pro Am on Monday, May 7 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, NY.  Matches begin at 2 PM with tennis champions John McEnroe, Patrick McEnroe, Jim Courier, James Blake, Justin Gimelstob, Gigi Fernandez, Mary Joe Fernandez, Zina Garrison, Chanda Rubin and others, pairing with amateur participants.
