This Year Djokovic
to Rest Before Monte Carlo and the Clay Court Season
Novak
Djokovic will pause for breath after defeating Andy Murray to claim a
third career title in Miami, with the Serb No. 1 solid in his
ATP-leading position heading into the clay-court start at mid-month in
Monte Carlo.
"This is very
encouraging for me prior to the clay court season," Djokovic said after
defeating Murray 6-1, 7-6. "I'm gonna have more confidence coming into
the Monte Carlo tournament. It's going to be the opening tournament on
clay."
Raonic Becomes
Ambassador for Canadian Kids Tennis
Tennis
Canada announced the launch of a new campaign to promote the active,
healthy living of children through the sport of tennis.
Canada’s No. 1
singles player and world No. 26 Milos Raonic will be the ambassador for
Kids’ Tennis, a scaled-down version of the sport that ensures earlier
success for children by using modified racquets, balls and nets.
River Oaks to
Support Troops
The
US Men’s Clay Court Championships, Houston, and the USTA are teaming up
during next week’s tournament to support members of the United States
military through an Adopt-A-Unit program for 402nd Army
Field Support Brigade (AFSB).
Patrons attending the
US Men’s Clay Court Championship April 9-15 at River Oaks Country Club
are encouraged to support the Adopt-A-Unit program by bringing items to
donate for a shipment to the 75-100 personnel in that unit based at Al
Asad Air Base in Iraq.
