Hewitt Signs to Play Newport

Recovering Lleyton Hewitt has locked in what he hopes will be his comeback program from foot surgery after entering the Hall of Fame ATP event in the US the week after Wimbledon. The 31-year-old former No. 1 is hoping that the Rhode Island stop will be a mere continuation of play after aiming to get back onto the courts in June in time for Wimbledon.

USTA Tennis on Campus National Championship to be Held in North Carolina

The USTA announced that co-ed intramural and sport club tennis teams representing 64 colleges and universities across the country have qualified for the 2012 USTA Tennis On Campus National Championship to be played in Cary, N.C., April 12-14.
