Maybe Alex Bogomolov Jr. should have stayed an American. He certainly hasn't accomplished much since "defecting." He will remain stuck around #40.

No return to the Top Fifty for Ivo Karlovic, it seems.

Singles - Second Round: (3) (WC) F Lopez def. P Lorenzi 6-4 7-6(7-4)
One report claimed that Feliciano Lopez "overpowered" Paolo Lorenzi in this match. Given that Lopez trailed in the first set, and was constantly playing catch-up in the second, "overpowered" seems a bit strong. But he came through, helped by four aces in the tiebreak. Unfortunately for him, he needs a final to earn any points.
