Saturday Summary
Singles - Semifinal: (3) P Andujar def. F Cipolla 6-3
7-5
Back-to-back finals here for Pablo Andujar. He must
really like this place. This will obviously let him
regain a big chunk of the ground he lost last week.
Singles - Semifinal: (7) A Ramos def. I Andreev 6-3
7-6(9-7)
Igor Andreev has been running into a lot of players who
aren't in the best shape, but here he finally bumped
into an in-form clay player. Albert Ramos is climbing
fast; with this, we show him up to #42. At the rate he
is going, a Roland Garros seed seems quite possible.
Doubles - Final: Brown/Hanley def. (4) Bracciali/Fognini
7-5 6-3
Dustin Brown seems to have a bit of a doubles identity
crisis. He has two titles -- one on indoor hardcourt
(Metz 2010) and now this one on clay. Not exactly the
normal pairing. Especially given that he was playing
with Paul Hanley, himself no fan of clay. And it was
their first time together, too! Hanley picks up his
first title since Sydney 2011 -- and his first on clay
since Hamburg 2009. So it was a bit of a breakthrough
for both guys.
