Nadal Is Apprehensive About Playing in Monte Carlo

Rafael Nadal is facing his demons before a clay-court start in Monte Carlo, with a seven-year win streak on the line for the Spaniard. "I'm always nervous coming into Monte Carlo," said Nadal, who has yet to test his dodgy left knee after intense treatment following his failure to front up for a Miami semi-final due to the problem.

To Murray, It is Rankings, Not Major Titles That Count

Andy Murray subscribes to the Caroline Wozniacki school of thought about ranking versus majors: it's all about the ranking - even without a major title to hand,

The Scot who has been stuck on fourth in the world for much of the past two seasons, supports former WTA No. 1 Wozniacki, who had to live through her period at the top by fending off weekly queries about when she was going to win the Grand Slam she has yet to claim.

Young Still Slumping but Olympics Possible

After going down to Paul-Henri Mathieu 6-0 6-1 in the first round of Monte Carlo, American Donald Young has fallen to 2-9 on year. It was the 50th ranked Young's seventh first round loss of the season and his fifth straight defeat.

Despite his slump, Young is still on the bubble Olympic spot. The top 56 ranked players automatically qualify (although the ranking cutoff will likely go up as the ITF allows each nation only four singles players).
