Sharapova Surprised at Response to Her “Short Hair”

Maria Sharapova is in shock after swift and massive worldwide reaction to a stunt she pulled, donning a short hair wig and posting a photo which made it seem as if the diva of the courts had chopped her trademark long blonde hair.

The world No. 2 with 7 million Facebook fans was just not prepared for the blowback. "I was surprised by the power of Facebook. I was a little naive that my 7 million fans actually paid attention to what I wrote ... I learned a lesson."

Djokovic to Skip His Family-Owned Serbian Tournament

Novak Djokovic has voted with his feet and elected to rest his mind and body instead of stressing out with a title defense at his family-owned Serbia Open. The No. 1 who lost his grandfather last week but played on to reach the Monte Carlo final against Rafael Nadal will skip the ATP 250 in Belgrade starting Monday.

Nadal: I’m not Greater Than Borg

Bjorn Borg, who won six Roland Garros titles, recently said that Rafael Nadal was the greatest clay court player ever even though the Spaniard has ‘only’‘ won six French titles himself. But Borg said that after Nadal won his record eighth crown in Monte Carlo on clay. Nadal is going for his sixth crown on clay in Barcelona this week.

As humble as ever, Nadal doesn't agree with the Swede. “Well, just can say thank you to him” he said.

Pac-12 Championships Underway at Ojai

Two of college tennis’ powerhouse programs and intra-city rivals USC and UCLA could possibly meet for the third time this season as the first Pac-12 Men’s Championships dual-match format event is underway at the 112th annual Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament in Ojai, California.
