Nadal Continues Red Hot Performance on Clay

Rafael Nadal has risen to the occasion on clay again as the Spaniard makes more history with his seventh title from eight appearances at the Barcelona Open. The No. 2 becomes the first in the game to win two separate events seven times, as he defeated battling compatriot David Ferrer 7-6 (7-1), 7-5 following on from eight trophies in a row a week earlier in Monte Carlo.

Sharapova Wins Big in Stuttgart

Maria Sharapova was overjoyed to finally beat Victoria Azarenka for a title after losing two this season to the Belarus No. 1. Sharapova produced a 6-1, 6-4 win to walk away with a prize check and a Porsche in Stuttgart on clay.

Isner Has High Olympic Hopes

John Isner entertains thoughts of an Olympic medal this summer, with his chances of making the team almost assured by the absence of American No. 1 Mardy Fish, who has chosen not to play in London in July.

Isner, 11th in the world, is keen to make his contribution. "It's such a huge event. The tennis season revolves around the four grand slams but with this an Olympic year, there are five Grand Slams - and two are at Wimbledon."

Near French Miracle for Baker

Nine years ago, Brian Baker came within one victory of winning the Roland Garros boys’ singles championships. At that tournament, he upset Marco Baghdatis, who would later reach the Australian Open final, and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who now has become a perennial top-10 player.
