So much for the notion that Attila Balazs might be the Next Big Thing. Losing to Bobby Reynolds on clay is definitely not a good sign....

Singles - Second Round: (2) R Gasquet def. P Lorenzi 6-1 6-1
The points are just starting to count for Richard Gasquet. And, because of the odd way points are coming on and off this week, it appears he needs one more win just to keep the #18 ranking.

Singles - Second Round: (3) S Wawrinka def. (Q) I Navarro 7-6(7-5) 6-1
Stanislas Wawrinka needs one more win to do him any good -- and he needs a final to hit the Top Twenty. Hard to tell how good his form is, given Ivan Navarro's recent results.

Singles - Second Round: (6) R Haase def. (Q) I Cervantes 5-7 6-4 6-2
Robin Haase, unlike the guys above him, is already counting points. This will very likely put him in the Top Forty; one more win would clinch.

Singles - Second Round: (Q) D Munoz-De La Nava def. (8) F Cipolla 6-4 6-4
A fascinating pattern, this: The top seed in action today won, losing only two games. The next-highest seed won in straight sets, but one of the sets was a struggle. The next seed won, but in three sets. And the lowest seed in action lost. And lost to a guy who had never before won back-to-back ATP matches!
