Becker Advised Injured Murray to Skip French Open

Boris Becker has begun dispensing his usual pre-French Open advice, telling injured Scot Andy Murray to consider pulling out of Roland Garros.

"I worry where Andy is physically," Becker told London's Telegraph. "Back pain is a disaster on clay. On any other surface you can handle it because you can finish matches quickly, but on clay you have to be ready to play for two or three hours every day. We saw that Andy couldn't handle that in Rome."

Monfils Pulls Out of French Open

Gael Monfils has joined the withdrawals at the French Open, with a knee problem forcing the Frenchman out. He joins Mardy Fish and Daniel Hantuchova, among others who will miss the clay major.

NBC to Show French Open Coverage Sunday

In all, NBC will broadcast 20 hours from Roland Garros, including coverage on the first Sunday of play for the first time.

Tennis fans can go online (www.nbcsports.com) to watch a live simulcast of each day of NBC’s coverage.
