Draw for 2013 Fed Cup To be Held in Paris on June 6
The
Draw for the 2013 Fed Cup by BNP Paribas will take place at the
Musée de la Fédération Française de Tennis at Roland
Garros in Paris
on Wednesday June 6 at 12:00 local time (10:00 GMT).
The 2012 finalists are automatically the top two seeds in
the 2013 World Group, while the remaining seeds are based on the latest
ITF Fed Cup Nations Ranking.
The four seeded nations in the 2013 World Group are:
Czech Republic (1)
Serbia (2)
Italy (3)
Russia (4)
Shvedova Never lost Hope
Yaroslava
Shvedova's two-year journey back to the Roland Garros quarterfinals was
an arduous one, but the Kazakh never gave up hope and now after
upsetting defending champion Li Na, she should find her way back into
the top 100 and into relevance.
She
credited Argentine Redondi for helping get her back on track.
Nadal is Totally Focused on Winning the French Open
Rafael
Nadal is having some trouble concentrating on anything but the job at
hand as he aims for a record seventh title at the French Open. The
Spanish king of clay is so focused that he cannot even say what a
possible seventh trophy might mean in light of all his other career
accomplishments on the clay.
"For
me, a seventh Roland Garros win is not more important than No. 2, No. 3,
or No. 4," said the Spaniard, who will work to progress as he faces a
grinding quarter-final with compatriot Nicolas Almagro.
Murray Thrives on a Hostile Crowd
Those
who have tried, and are still trying, to coach Andy Murray in his tennis
career have finally found the secret of what is guaranteed to produce
his best tennis. A crowd in excess of 10,000 who are prepared to boo him
from the moment he steps on the court to when he leaves.
Such
was the case at Roland Garros on Court Philippe Chatrier and despite
being Public Enemy No.1 for several hours at the French Open, the 25
year-old Scot reveled in his unpopularity to shrug off a lame first set
to completely out-play home favorite Richard Gasquet.
