Federer Says Hip Injury is History Now

After dealing with an undisclosed hip injury during much of the clay season and still managing to win Madrid and place in the semi-finals in Rome before exiting in the final four at the French Open, Roger Federer said he is finally fit as the grass season begins.

 

 

Sharapova Is Candidate to Carry Russian Flag at Olympics

It appears newly-crowned Roland Garros champion Maria Sharapova is the front runner to be Russia's flag-bearer at the opening of next month's London Olympics

Russia's tennis federation chief Shamil Tarpishchev has said that Sharapova had already been penciled in as the flag-bearer. But Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko countered: "Maria is an outstanding athlete but currently she's just a candidate for the role of the country's flag-bearer."

 

As a Bad Actor Haas Calls Murray a Good Actor on the Court

German Tommy Haas has taken note of what he considers Andy Murray's award-winning acting skills on court, but does not give the Scot an Oscar for what he sees as serial gamesmanship.

Haas seems particularly annoyed at Murray's perceived habit of "looking like he is injured Ö and then moving like a cat," adding that "everyone in the locker room knows about it and talks about it".

A Collection of Tennis Images For Sale

A professional tennis photographer has been shooting for almost 40 years at all the major and minor tennis tournaments for the wires systems, daily newspapers, magazines and advertising agencies. He has been to venues all over the world and has compiled tennis images (archives) of all the professionals and some juniors.  The images have all been preserved in a temperature-controlled environment and are color positives (slides), color and black & white negatives and contact sheets, as well as digital. There are in excess of 400,000 images and they are for sale. Seller will transfer copyright and will give total usage to the purchaser.
