USTA
to Expand and Enhance Site of the US Open
The
USTA announced details of a proposed plan for future development at the
USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center (NTC) in Flushing Meadows
Corona Park, the site of the US Open.
The
project will primarily entail the replacement and renovation of aging
facilities and infrastructures. Most notably is the construction of two
new stadia, one to replace the aging Louis Armstrong Stadium in its
current location at the northeast corner of the site, and the other a
brand new Grandstand Stadium, built in a different location at the
southwest corner of the property.
Tsonga Injures Finger and Wimbledon is in Doubt
Wimbledon
contender Jo-Wilfried Tsonga injured the little finger on his racquet
hand during a mid-match tumble at Queen's club, with the world No. 5 is
now worried about his fitness for the grass-court Grand Slam which
starts in 10 days.
Roddick Gets Last-Minute Wild-Card at Eastbourne
Three-time
Wimbledon finalist Andy Roddick has been thrown a lifeline and the
chance to sharpen up his grass-court tennis in time for the Wimbledon
start on June 25 after being handed a wild card entry into next week's
Eastbourne event.
Bollettieri Home After Hospital Bout With Double Pneumonia
After
4 days in the hospital with double pneumonia, Nick Bollettieri is home
and feeling great! It was not a secret of Bollettieri’s condition, and
he was inundated at the hospital with visits, phone calls, emails,
flowers, cards, food, etc., etc. He was deeply touched by all the
outpouring of love he received over the last few days!
His
assistant Tim has been terrific staying by his side, printing out all

at all the major and minor tennis tournaments for the wires systems,
daily newspapers, magazines and advertising agencies. He has been to
venues all over the world and has compiled tennis images (archives) of
all the professionals and some juniors. The images have all been
preserved in a temperature-controlled environment and are color
positives (slides), color and black & white negatives and contact
sheets, as well as digital. There are in excess of 400,000 images and
