back with the immediate answer without even a second’s reflection. “No,”

Williams Is
Ready For The US Open
After
a week of down time Serene Williams is fully charged and ready to take
on the US Open once again, with the 30-year-old American keen to lift
her first title at her home major since 2008, Williams lost the final a
year ago to Australian Samantha Stosur and has had a few spats with
chair umpires in recent editions.
Davies Honored
By Hall Of Fame
Mike
Davies, a 2012 entrant into the International Tennis Hall of Fame, was
honored Saturday when Hall of Fame CEO Mark Stenning presented Davies a
Hall of Fame ring on Center Court at the New Haven Open following the
evening semifinal. Also participating in the ring ceremony was fellow
Hall of Famer Butch Buchholz .
Federer Knows
Even Without Nadal, Winning The US Open Won’t Be Easy

Federer admits that the injury absence of rival Rafael Nadal will make
little difference to his quest for a sixth title at the US Open, with
the top seed and world No. 1 assured of a fortnight-long challenge if he
is to claim his 18th Grand Slam title.

Expects Murray Work His Way To US Open Title
Former
Andy Murray mentor Brad Gilbert believes his ex-pupil will be
well-equipped to deal with any conditions thrown at him as the US Open
begins, with rain or heat not expected to be a problems for the Olympic
gold medalist.

Martz Out Of Intensive Care
Jim
Martz, long-time former tennis writer for the Miami Herald and his own
Florida Tennis magazine was moved out of intensive care on Sunday at an
Ohio hospital after suffering from severe community active pneumonia.
Martz told Daily Tennis News that he expects to be
released from the hospital Wednesday and return to his Florida home. He
has cancelled plans to attend this year’s US Open.
