Tomic Gets Chewed Out by Davis Cup Captain Rafter
Bernard
Tomic may have escaped censure from the Grand Slam Committee after his
far from committed display against Andy Roddick at the US Open but the
young Australian has earned a stinging rebuke from his Davis Cup captain
Patrick Rafter.
Courier Believes Isner’s Early Loss Will Give Him Rest Before Davis Cup
Tie
US
captain Jim Courier says losing early at the US Open might be the best
thing for the Davis Cup hopes of John Isner as the big man joins Sam
Querrey in facing Spain on clay in next week's semi-finals in Spain.
Winning Gives Murray Big Appetite
Andy
Murray has no hesitation in chowing down after a match, with the Scot
anxious to replace the missing calories. After spending nearly four
hours to reach the fourth round and 48 hours later polishing off
Canadian Milos Raonic to reach the quarters, Murray was thinking of
nothing but where his next meal was coming from.
The
player who in the past was known for knocking back 30-40 sushi rolls
admits he needs plenty of healthy fuel to perform: "I eat a lot of
protein, meat, fish. I have like protein shakes I take after the match.
I try to get about 150 grams of protein in me, that helps repair the
muscles. I need to eat a lot."
“Homeless” Johnson Likes The Professional Tour
American
ATP newcomer Steven Johnson, a university tennis champion trying to make
a start on the ATP, has joked that he is currently without a fixed abode
as he tries to establish a presence on the professional circuit.
"I'm currently homeless, so it's an interesting situation," joked the
No. 245. "I'm actually living with (fellow player) Brad Klahn. We're
finding a place at some point in the next few weeks before we go home."
