Williams Wins
First Title In Almost Three Years
Venus
Williams has finally ended a wait of almost three years after her last
singles trophy success, with the former No. 1 winning her 44th career

Her Success Came After Murray’s Olympic Snub
Heather
Watson, Britain’s first WTA title winner in 24 years and now a fully
fledged member of the women’s top 50 has revealed for the first time
that the Olympic snub she suffered at the hands of Andy Murray, provided
her with the impetus to prove herself better than friend, compatriot but
rival Laura Robson.
Federer Aiming
For His Sixth Basel Title
Memories
will come flooding back for Roger Federer as the world No. 1 plays again
at his hometown event, the Swiss Indoors, bidding to win a sixth title
in his own personal tennis stronghold.
The top seed got his start in the game as a ballboy
nearly two decades ago and has never lost his love for the sport first
developed in the St Jakobshalle in Basle. "I was a ball boy," he
recalled in the run-up to this year's edition. As a result of that
experience, Federer always takes time after the Basle final to share a
pizza with the current crop of ball kids, a custom he has developed over
the years.
