WHAT THE PLAYERS SAID
Tomic: "It's an amazing feeling. Now that I know what it feels like to win a tournament and it's the best feeling in the world. I'm so happy I won. To do it here in Sydney is awesome. I can't ask for anything better. I'm so proud of myself. Can't stop here now. Now I've got to look to the next tournament and keep playing the tennis I've been playing.
“It's my first title, and I know I'll win a lot more if I keep this attitude up. I'm happy for this year now. I'm so excited. I'm looking forward to Melbourne. I feel unstoppable. I feel like I'm playing great tennis. It's amazing stepping on court. You're so confident. That's going to be taken down to Melbourne and I'm going to use that for every match I play there.
“He's not easy to play. I was lucky I got that double fault in the third set, because anything could have happened after that. I did play well off the ground. I served pretty good, but he was serving outstanding. Third set was epic. I think under pressure I played really good tennis."
Bob Bryan: "It's nice to start the year with a title, especially in a tournament with such a tough field. Australia has been good to us over the years and we hope this win can give us momentum going into Melbourne.
"Today's match was very close. Horia and Max showed this week that they will be a very formidable team. We hope to have the opportunity to play them in many more big matches during the coming years."
Mike Bryan: "It feels great to start the year strong. We love coming down here. We've been coming down since 2000 and to win here against eight of the Top 10 teams feels great. We played some great tennis. We just snuck out the first round; we were playing with the house chips in that game. But we pulled some good tennis out.
"It's all about confidence. To win here, we have a lot of confidence going into the Aussie. It's probably our favourite slam. We've had our best results there being in the finals eight out of the past nine years. The times we have won here we have always played well."
Bruno Soares: "I wasn't able to play with my partner. He was injured. Colin and I spoke to each other right before coming here, so it was sort of a last minute deal. I've known him for a long time and we're good friends. Playing with him here was a pleasure. We knew we could play well together."
