Djokovic enters the Dubai Open trying to keep a tight rein on his dream
of fulfilling his Grand Slam destiny and completing his matched set of
major with a Roland Garros title in June.
Federer To Play Fewer Events This Year But Practice More
Roger
Federer, with his 32nd birthday approaching plans on playing
on a reduced schedule in 2013.
Federer plans to play just 14 tournaments this year, missing the Sony
Open Masters series event in Miami next month along with the Monte Carlo
Rolex Open and later in the year the Swiss Indoors in his home-town of
Basel.
Kvitova Wins Dubai Without Her Coach
Former
Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova won her first title since last August
as she came out on top in the withdrawal hit Dubai Duty Free
Championships. And the eighth ranked Czech did it on a week when her
regular coach David Kotyza was away on vacation.
Sarasota To Honor Bollettieri
The
Sarasota Open will have a name change this year. The Sarasota Herald
Tribune reports that the tournament will now be called The Nick
Bollettieri Sarasota Women’s Open.
Kenyon Men Win ITA Division III National Men’s Team Indoor Championship
Kenyon
College, Gambier, Ohio, won its first ITA Division III National Men's
Team Indoor Championship in program history when it defeated top seed
Emory 5-4.
USPTA Is Seeking a Director of Marketing
The
Director of Marketing will play an instrumental role in advancing the
association’s mission and establishing the USPTA’s brand identity. In
this position, the Director of Marketing will seek any opportunities for
endorsements or ad sales through in- or out-of-industry contacts, build
relationships to foster endorsements and answer inquiries regarding
endorsements along with presenting proposals for potential endorsees.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, innovative and have
exceptional communication and leadership skills.
