Bryans Receive
Persons Of The Year Honors
Bob
Bryan and twin brother Mike received trophies from Daily Tennis News
publisher Bob Larson Wednesday as they were recognized as Tennis News
Persons Of The Year 2012.

Azarenka’s Physio
Says Injury Is Very Slight
Since
joining Victoria Azarenka’s team as touring physiotherapist, Per
Bastholt has been one of the busiest men on the WTA scene. And the Swede
who not too long ago was a staff member on the ATP World Tour maintains
the Australian Open champion has suffered no tendon damage after being
forced to withdraw for her title defense at the BNP Paribas Open in
Indian Wells because of pain in her right ankle.
Berdych Is One Of
The Last Of Old School Czechs
Tomas
Berdych says he’s part of the last generation of Czech players who had
to go through hard times to make it on tour. Berdych was born in 1985,
four year before the fall of the Berlin Wall and seven years before
Czechoslovakia was split into two counties: the Czech Republic and the
Slovak Republic. Like most Eastern European countries after the Eastern
Bloc dissolved, the Czech Republic struggled economically when
transitioning from communism to capitalism, so Berdych didn't have it
easy.
Wozniacki Can
Sleep During Lulls
Managing
long hours of waiting for a late-starting match is all part of player
life at most events, with the Indian Wells Masters no exception.
Caroline Wozniacki has become an expert at filling her time, with the
former No. 1 big on sleeping whenever possible and at all hours.
Gulbis Is Now The
“New Gulbis”
The
win streak may be over for Ernests Gulbis after 13 straight following
his defeat by Rafael Nadal at the Indian Wells Masters. But the Latvian
qualifier who was formerly known more as a tennis playboy than a title
contender is planning to carry on to Miami with his new, serious
approach to his sport.
