Republic becomes only the sixth nation to hold the No. 1 position on the
ITF Davis Cup Nations Ranking after completing a 3-1 victory over
Kazakhstan in the quarterfinals of the 2013 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas in
Astana on Saturday. Lukas Rosol won the decisive point with a 76(5)
67(2) 76(5) 62 victory over Evgeny Korolev.


Pakistan Complains

has lodged an official complaint to the International Tennis Federation
after the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group II tie against New Zealand was
abandoned due to a large hole appearing on the baseline of the grass
court in the neutral venue of Yangon, Myanmar.

Djokovic’s clay court plans seemed to have been thrown into disarray
after the world no.1 seriously twisted his right ankle.

Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters starting in a week on April 14. “The nature of
the injury is still to be determined.

admission ‘a pretty bad tennis player’ because of his abhorrence of

under Leon Smith recovered from a 2-0 deficit after the first day of
competition for the first time in 83 years, since the formative days of
Fred Perry and long white trousers, to beat Russia 3-2 at Coventry’s
Richo Arena.

to Australia Davis Cup Victory" width="100" height="67" align="left" hspace="5">Bernard
Tomic won both of his single rubbers to insure Australia a place in the
Davis Cup World Group playoffs as he returned to the right side of
captain Patrick Rafter.
