Britain has augmented its’ international tennis ranks by two in the past week or so by bringing Australia’s Brydan Klein and New Zealand’s Cameron Norrie into the Lawn Tennis Association’s cash-rich set up but Leon Smith, head of British men’s tennis, insisted the pair have not been lured by financial incentives.

Andy Murray is likely to delay his decision on whether to play the French Open until tomorrow (Wednesday) at the earliest and possibly even Friday after being forced to retire mid-match at last week’s Internazionale BNL d’Italia in Rome because a long standing injury in his lower back.

The work of Australian coach Josh Eagle came to a quick end in the south of France as both of his temporary clients, Lleyton Hewitt and Marinko Matsosevic, but the real work is likely only beginning for Eagle, who has been called into the breach to help out wayward Aussie Bernard Tomic after the player's father was banned from ATP events as well as the French Open for a bloody attack on a member of the team entourage a fortnight ago in Madrid.
