ITF Bans Tomic From Roland Garros

Following John Tomic’s committal for trail in Madrid after assaulting his son Bernard’s practice partner, the Federation Francaise de Tennis (FFT) has been insistent the Australian player’s father would be banned from Roland Garros.

As Day One of the French Open got underway in Paris, the absent world no.2 Andy Murray was already back on a practice court in London in his bid to be fit and ready for a grass court campaign he hopes will end with a cherished Wimbledon title.

 

 

Wozniacki Likely To Get New Coach

The sight of Piotr Wozniacki crouched in front of his daughter Caroline’s courtside chair, delivering one of his verbose coaching sermons in Polish is the staple diet of those who love to make humor of tennis matters. But the routine could soon be obsolete as Wozniacki Sr. now feels it is time to take a back step from tennis, take time away from the circuit and employ an experienced coach to take over the job.

 

 

Federer Has Another Milestone and Approaching Another Record

With the French Open up and running, Roger Federer has already moved closer to another record as he competes in his 54th consecutive major. The 31-year-old is enjoying a nearly unparalleled run of consistency stretching back to January, 2000, at the Australian Open. It's the most of any current player.

 

 

Canadian Open To Bring In Sampras, Roddick, Courier and McEnroe

Tennis Canada announced Monday the return of Rogers Legends Cup, a three-day event featuring four former world No. 1 players Jim Courier, John McEnroe, Andy Roddick and Pete Sampras. The four Legends will play a total of three matches over the final weekend at Rogers Cup presented by National Bank in Toronto beginning the evening of Friday, August 9. They will play alongside the stars of the WTA at the Premier 5 event with pricing included in the regular Rogers Cup ticket.

The Tennis Center at College Park (TCCP) is interviewing for a full time staff teaching professional.   Primary compensation is based on generating private lessons during non-prime time hours.  Benefits include health insurance.

The TCCP is a premiere tennis club located just outside downtown Washington, DC.  The Tennis Center at College Park is a USTA Regional Training Center, home of the Junior Tennis Champions Center training program, as well as, the University of Maryland tennis teams.
