Federer To Play Brisbane In Australian Open Warm Up

Roger Federer will make his debut at January's Brisbane International pre-Australian Open event, with the Swiss continuing a shake-up of his schedule which began this month with surprise entries in Hamburg and this week at home in Gstaad.

 

 

Vilas Tennis Academy Teams Up With Russian Federation

The Guillermo Vilas Tennis Academy in Mallorca, Spain has teamed up with the Russian Tennis Federation to develop and train some of Russia’s top juniors.  Shamil Tarpishchev, President of the Russian Tennis Federation and Guennadiy  Zhukov,  Chairman of the Board of the Russian Tennis Federation, traveled to Mallorca and met up with Vilas as well as Rafael Nadal, who lives in the town of Manacor on the island.

 

ATA Looking For Permanent Site In Florida

The American Tennis Association (the ATA) , the United States’  oldest black amateur tennis association wants to build its first permanent home and training center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. According to the Sun-Sentinel, the USTA has teamed up with the ATA told help build the estimated $6 million facility, which excludes the cost of land, and without a specific site.

 

Djokovic Has Written A Nutrition Book

Novak Djokovic is set to reveal the nutritional "secrets" of his success just in time for next month's start of the US Open, with the release of the world No. 1 player's first book, Serve to Win: The 14-Day Gluten-Free Plan for Physical and Mental Excellence.

Tennis Dynamics manages the Laurel Park Tennis Center and we are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and professional individual to round out our current staff. The Laurel Park Tennis Center is located in Marietta, GA. The facility consists of 13 tennis courts. Our programs include junior and adult ALTA/USTA teams as well as Junior and Adult clinics during the week and weekends.  The ideal candidate will have collegiate playing experience and/or an NTRP rating of 4.5 or higher. The position will begin as part-time but could easily lead to a full-time position for the right individual. This individual will assist in implementing current programs and help create new programs. Professional certification preferred as well as strong playing skills. Candidates will also possess strong communication skills, positive attitude, excellent teamwork, desire to provide outstanding customer service, and a charismatic enthusiasm about the sport of tennis. Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include weekend and potentially holiday hours. This position will receive an hourly rate for all clinics, lessons, and team practices taught. Racquet stringing and pro shop hours may also be part of this individual’s responsibility. Compensation is based on experience.
