Sharapova And New Coach Connors Split

There are the long standing coach/player relationships and there are the short-lived partnerships but that between Maria Sharapova and Jimmy Connors will take some beating in terms of brevity after the two multiple Grand Slam champions parted ways after just one match.

 

 

Stosur And Coach Taylor Separate

While one former US Open women’s champion ended the shortest of coaching relationships, another announced an end to what was believed to be the firmest of partnerships as 2011 champion Samantha Stosur parted with her coach of six years, David Taylor.

 

 

French Federation Now To Search For Hopman Cup Bartoli Replacement

January's Hopman Cup has been blindsided by the shock retirement from  tennis of Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli. Tournament officials at the eight-nation mixed team as event are now scratching to come up with a French female to replace Bartoli alongside Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at the event in Perth, Western Australia.

 

 

Murray Has New Job: Defend His First Grand Slam Title

Andy Murray will be making a leap into the unknown in a matter of days as he begins the defense of his first grand slam title when he plays the US Open. The No. 2 who is concentrating currently on his job at the Cincinnati tournament - final tune-up for the major - knows that he will be in for a new pressure-packed experience.

 

 

Murray Says He Is Getting Used To Louder Crowds In The USA

Andy Murray is getting adjusted to the overly loud North American decibel count as he prepares to make the first grand slam title defense of his career from next week at the US Open. Already at Cincinnati, where he lost a quarter-final to Tomas Berdych, the Scot was taking notice of the habitually elevated noise which seems to be generated on this side of the Atlantic.

USTA Georgia Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer
The Executive Director serves as the chief operating officer (COO) of USTA Georgia (USTA GA).  Overall, the Executive Director is responsible for achieving the mission of USTA GA:  to guide USTA GA to new levels of operating success, visibility, and prominence in the promotion and development of the growth of tennis in Georgia through implementation of the USTA GA Strategic Plan.
 
The Executive Director manages the day-to-day operations and financials of USTA GA to focus them on the promoting and growing the game of tennis in GA.  The Executive Director exercises leadership and acts as a liaison between staff and BoD and committees within USTA GA, and between USTA Southern and National staff and the USTA GA leadership.  USTA GA is one of nine state tennis associations (USTA “Districts”) within the USTA Southern Section.  The USTA GA Executive Director is expected to develop professional relationships with the Executive Directors of the other USTA Southern districts and to work closely with USTA and USTA Southern staff with the objective of growing the game of tennis in Georgia.  The ultimate objective of the Executive Director is to promote the USTA and USTA GA with the long-term goals of increasing participation and USTA memberships, while enhancing a strong, positive image and awareness of USTA GA programs and building a sustainable partnership between the association and the constituency it serves.  Accepting applications at edresume@ustageorgia.com through 8/31.

Tennis Dynamics manages the Laurel Park Tennis Center and we are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and professional individual to round out our current staff. The Laurel Park Tennis Center is located in Marietta, GA. The facility consists of 13 tennis courts. Our programs include junior and adult ALTA/USTA teams as well as Junior and Adult clinics during the week and weekends.  The ideal candidate will have collegiate playing experience and/or an NTRP rating of 4.5 or higher. The position will begin as part-time but could easily lead to a full-time position for the right individual. This individual will assist in implementing current programs and help create new programs. Professional certification preferred as well as strong playing skills. Candidates will also possess strong communication skills, positive attitude, excellent teamwork, desire to provide outstanding customer service, and a charismatic enthusiasm about the sport of tennis. Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include weekend and potentially holiday hours. This position will receive an hourly rate for all clinics, lessons, and team practices taught. Racquet stringing and pro shop hours may also be part of this individual’s responsibility. Compensation is based on experience. A Collection of Tennis Images For Sale

A professional tennis photographer has been shooting for almost 40 years at all the major and minor tennis tournaments for the wires systems, daily newspapers, magazines and advertising agencies. He has been to venues all over the world and has compiled tennis images (archives) of all the professionals and some juniors.  The images have all been preserved in a temperature-controlled environment and are color positives (slides), color and black & white negatives and contact sheets, as well as digital.
