Williams Will Have Number 1 Ranking At Year-End

Following a 2013 season highlighted by winning nine titles, including two Grand Slam events, Serena Williams has secured the Women's Tennis Association’s Year-End No.1, presented by Dubai Duty Free, for the third time in her illustrious career, having also achieved the honor in 2002 and 2009.

 

 

Downey Credits Canadian Pro Success For LTA Job

Michael Downey, who is leaving Tennis Canada to become the new chief of Brittan’s Lawn Tennis Association, gives a lot of credit to Canadian pros for helping raise his profile.

 

 

 

Li Honored By Right To Play

Williams Denied A New Service Speed Record

It is a strangely mixed day for the Williams sisters.

While Serena received the good news that without hitting a ball she had done enough to secure the year ending WTA world no.1 ranking for the third time in her career, Venus had to accept the double disappointment of third set tiebreak defeat Petra Kvitova in Toray Pan Pacific semi-final in Tokyo and being told the 129.9 mph serve she hit 24 hours earlier was not being accepted.

 

Wawrinka Expands His Schedule To Improve His Chances To Play London

Stanislas Wawrinka is working this week in Kuala Lumpur to try and insure a trip for two Swiss to the ATP season-ending November final as he tries to join Roger Federer in London.

 

 

Li Qualifies For Istanbul

The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) announced that World No.5 Li Na has qualified for this year’s TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships, to be staged at the Sinan Erdem Dome in Istanbul, Turkey, from October 22-27, 2013.

A Collection of Tennis Images For Sale

A professional tennis photographer has been shooting for almost 40 years at all the major and minor tennis tournaments for the wires systems, daily newspapers, magazines and advertising agencies. He has been to venues all over the world and has compiled tennis images (archives) of all the professionals and some juniors.  The images have all been preserved in a temperature-controlled environment and are color positives (slides), color and black & white negatives and contact sheets, as well as digital.
