Although the Lawn Tennis Association chairman of the board, David Grigson insists Canadian Michael Downey was the unanimous choice as the new chief executive to lead British tennis, Judy Murray – mother of Andy and arguably even more prominent in the United Kingdom’s tennis perception than her Wimbledon winning son – maintains she was offered the chance to be the new chief .

 

Wawrinka Credits His New Coach Magnus Norman

Though he fell in last weekend's Kuala Lumpur semi-finals, the hopes of Stanislas Wawrinka are looking up as he tries to make it an unprecedented two Swiss in the ATP year-end finals in London, now just five weeks away in early November.

 

Nadal Runs A “Vamos” Contest

Diehard Rafael Nadal fans have been challenged by their tennis hero with an impromptu contest. Through his Facebook page, the ten-time 2013 tournament winner and world No. 2 has asked his faithful to send in pictures of themselves mimicking his famous "Vamos" gesture, a clinched first shooting upwards which comes out almost automatically after a winning point.

 

Bollettieri, Braden, Wilkinson Inducted Into USPTA’s Hall Of Fame

Nick Bollettieri, Vic Braden and Steve Wilkinson joined the ranks of only 13 others when they were inducted into the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Hall of Fame Friday

 

 

 

USTA Northern Selection Inducts Four Into Hall Of Fame

Marcia Bach, a long time national and regional tennis volunteer, was one of four people inducted into the Northern Tennis Hall of Fame Friday. Joining Bach, of Bloomington, Minnesota were Chuck Darley, Iowa City, Iowa, Larry Dodge, Berkeley, California and Susie Nee, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

A Collection of Tennis Images For Sale

A professional tennis photographer has been shooting for almost 40 years at all the major and minor tennis tournaments for the wires systems, daily newspapers, magazines and advertising agencies. He has been to venues all over the world and has compiled tennis images (archives) of all the professionals and some juniors.  The images have all been preserved in a temperature-controlled environment and are color positives (slides), color and black & white negatives and contact sheets, as well as digital.
