Nadal Is Back To Number One, But He Worries About His Knees

Rafael Nadal has risen back to the world no.1 ranking for the first since July 4, 2011, regardless of the constant pain issues he experiences with his knees. However the Spaniard is concerned he might not be able to give his best in this week’s Shanghai Rolex Masters.

 

 

Djokovic Goes After Doping Control Official In Troicki Case

Novak Djokovic was once a member of the ATP Players Council so he’s up on the pertinent political issues of the day. Now he has stepped out to defend his friend and Davis Cup teammate Victor Troicki, who is serving an 18-month suspension for failing to submit a blood test back in April during the Monte Carlo Masters Series.

 

 

Three Players Qualify For Istanbul

The WTA announced that Czech Republic\'s Petra Kvitova, Italy\'s Sara Errani and Serbia\'s Jelena Jankovic have qualified for this year’s TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships.

 

 

Davis Cup Schedule Forces Djokovic To Withdraw From Hopman Cup

Davis Cup finals in November against the Czech Republic duties have forced Novak Djokovic to decline a return invitation to the Hopman Cup, the mixed team event in Perth which kicks off the 2014 tennis season. As a result, the event will also have to do without crowd darling Ana Ivanovic after she and Djokovic lost the final in January to Spain.

 

 

Ferrer Qualifies For London 

David Ferrer will return to The O2 arena for the fourth straight year after becoming the latest player to qualify for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, to be held in London from November 4-11. The 31-year-old Spaniard is the fourth singles player after Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray to qualify for the elite eight-man season finale. 

 

 

China Tennis Federation Honors Drewett

Brad Drewett, the late Executive Chairman and President of the ATP World Tour who tragically passed away five months ago after battling Motor Neurone or Lou Gehrig’s Disease, was honored by having the No.1 court at Beijing’s National Tennis Center named in his memory.

A professional tennis photographer has been shooting for almost 40 years at all the major and minor tennis tournaments for the wires systems, daily newspapers, magazines and advertising agencies.
