In Spite Of Federer Loss, Laver Says Federer Is The Best Ever

Roger Federer might have suffered another defeat in Shanghai to underline the growing belief his career is now terminally in decline.

The Swiss may even not be certain of qualifying for this year’s Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. But Rod Laver, arguably men’s tennis’ foremost living legend by virtue of twice winning the Grand Slam, didn’t hesitate in saying who he thought was the best of all time.

Hewitt, With Wrist Injury, Will Play Vienna

Despite complaining of wrist problems over the last several weeks which led to his ouster in Shanghai, there's no stopping Lleyton Hewitt as the Australian carries on with his end-of-season plans by playing next week in Vienna.

Without Father, Laver Likes Tomic’s Future

Just a day after Bernard Tomic admitted that he now needed to look for a coach, other than his controversial father John, the greatest and most lauded of all Australian players applauded the decision of the 20 year-old from the Queensland Gold Coast.

Rod Laver has not enjoyed reading about all the off court incidents and hullabaloo caused by Father and Son Tomic and clearly doesn’t feel it’s good for the youngster’s chances of progressing in the game.

Trinity University To Honor Tennis Teams Who Set Unique Record

On May 21, 2000, Trinity University men’s team won the NCAA Division III national tennis championship at Kalamazoo, Michigan. Ten minutes later, the Trinity University women’s team won the NCAA Division III national team championship at St. Peter, Minnesota. Not in NCAA Division III history has a school won both the men’s and women’s championship on the same day.

The coach of both teams was Butch Newman, now Trinity’s director of tennis.

Tennis Round Gaining Steam With Match Making

Tennis Round, which calls itself the leader in recreational tennis player matching, has successfully completed its first goal of 500 matches scheduled via the Flex League app.
