Djokovic Hires Becker As Head Coach

Boris Becker will take over as head coach for Novak Djokovic starting at the Australian Open, with current coach Marian Vajda stepping into the background to spend more time at home. The Djokovic camp made the revelation only days before the world No. 2 is due to travel to Abu Dhabi for his exhibition start to 2014 next week after Christmas.

Sharapova Has Regrets Hiring Coach Connors

Maria Sharapova has confessed that her ill-conceived experiment with Jimmy Connors as a coach over the summer was a lesson in bad timing. The odd-couple plan lasted for the duration of one WTA match, with the high-profile pair ending their professional arrangement after Sharapova lost early in Cincinnati and Connors hit the road back to California.

Janowicz Withdraws From Hopman Cup Due To Injury

Wimbledon semi-finalist Jerzy Janowicz will miss the Hopman Cup next week with a foot injury sustained during the closed season, with Poland's chances at the eight-nation team competition now rapidly diminished as a result of his absence. The big-hitter and national No. 1 will be replaced by journeyman Grzegorz Panfil, the No. 271 who will have to play out of his skull to keep up with teammate Agnieszska Radwanska, fifth in the world on the WTA.

Stosur Has Faith In Coach Maclagan

Australian Samantha Stosur is pinning a lot of hopes on her new coach Miles Maclagan, who was once at the sides of Andy Murray, Marcos Baghdatis and Laura Robson.
