Ever since Ivan Lendl wandered back into the major tennis arena two years ago after more than a decade out of the spotlight he has cast a solitary image. Now with contemporaries like Boris Becker, Stefan Edberg and Michael Chang adopting the new roles of ‘celebrity coaches,’ there would apparently be a sense of familiarity for the 53 year-old who won two Australian Open titles.

Pete Sampras is at a loss to explain the massive drop in popularity and top players experienced by US men's tennis. But the former No. 1 has made a stab at an explanation in an American radio interview.

 

 

British Shrub Is Named The Andy Murray

Amid every other award that a grateful Scotland can dream up for native Wimbledon winner Andy Murray, now is more out of character than naming a delicate strain of plant after the gruff, all-business tennis player.

But that's what has happened anyway, with a new shrub now named the Andy Murray to go on display at the world-famed Chelsea flower show in London in the spring. The greenery will also be planted at Murray's new Cromlix house hotel, to open in the spring near his boyhood village of Dunblane.

Looking for a well-rounded, adaptable professional with a recent high level collegiate and tournament playing background and a minimum of 3 years of full time teaching experience.  The individual will be part of a professional team willing to help expand the Junior Program of 100 players (10 & under to competitive players) as well as 130 women team tennis players and 60 men players.

The professional will be part of one of the most prestigious Country Club’s in North Carolina with 1500 members, 2 golf courses, 14 tennis courts (11 outdoor & 3 indoor), 2 swimming pools and fitness facility.  This is a great opportunity to build a career as a future tennis director.

A Collection of Tennis Images For Sale

A professional tennis photographer has been shooting for almost 40 years at all the major and minor tennis tournaments for the wires systems, daily newspapers, magazines and advertising agencies. He has been to venues all over the world and has compiled tennis images (archives) of all the professionals and some juniors.  The images have all been preserved in a temperature-controlled environment and are color positives (slides), color and black & white negatives and contact sheets, as well as digital.
