Ferrer Might Be Fined For Pushing Line Judge

Australian Open referee Wayne McKewen and fellow officials are still debating whether to hit David Ferrer with a retrospective $Aus 20,000 fine for pushing a line judge on his way to suffering a 6-1, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 defeat at the hands of seventh seed Tomas Berdych.

Ever since Rafael Nadal first placed his water bottles facing in the direction he was playing and before each point tucking his hair behind his ears, touching his nose, loosening his shirt and rearranging his underwear in a specific order, fans have been aware of his attention to detail. He even describes them as his ‘routines’ and television commentators Jim Courier and Lleyton Hewitt have chosen to have a bit of fun about Nadal’s behavior during matches.

Dr Christopher Mogan said it was impossible to diagnose somebody without speaking to them, but felt the world no.1 seems to have a psychological disorder which is being ridiculed.

 

Not The First Time Both Defending Champs Lose In The Quarterfinals

Defending champions Novak Djokovic and Victoria Azarenka have both lost in the quarterfinals at the 2014 Australian Open. Djokovic lost to Stanislas Wawrinka 26 64 62 36 97 on Tuesday and Azarenka lost to Agnieszka Radwanska 61 57 60 on Wednesday. It is the first time both the defending champions have lost in the quarterfinals at the Australian Open in the Open Era.
