FINALS REVIEW - NISHIKORI RETAINS CROWN; BUTORAC/KLAASEN BEAT BRYANS
•  Kei Nishikori became the first back-to-back winner at the U.S. National Indoor Tennis Championships since Tommy Haas in 2006-07, as he registered his first win over Ivo Karlovic in three meetings.
•  Nishikori, who defeated Feliciano Lopez in last year's Memphis final, claimed his fourth ATP World Tour title in his sixth career final.
•  Karlovic, who fired 20 aces against Nishikori, was bidding to win his sixth title in his ninth final.
•  Eric Butorac and Raven Klaasen defeated Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan for the second time this season to capture their second title in their third final together.
•  Butorac won his 15th title and second in Memphis (2007), while Klaasen won his fourth title.
•  The Bryans were bidding for their fourth Memphis crown (2001, ‘04, ‘13).

WHAT THE PLAYERS SAID

Nishikori: “It's amazing to defend a title for the first time, especially here. I had a great memory from last year and I'm playing great."

"I get a lot of confidence from keeping my ranking in the Top 20. It's going to take some time to get to Top 10, Top 5, but I think I'm getting close."

Karlovic: “He's really fast. He hits winners from any position on the court. That's his game. He returned really well.”

“It was a good week for me. I'm really happy with the way I played. I hope I will continue like this and by the end of the year get into the Top 40.”

Butorac: “To get a win over the Bryans solidifies what we did in Australia and we’re on the right path to being one of the top teams in the world. We need to keep improving and getting better.”

Klaasen: “It feels really good. This is my first time in Memphis and playing in front of that crowd in the final was exciting for us. These guys have a great record everywhere you go. We got off to a great start in the match and were fortunate to keep it going for the entire match.”
