Baltacha Announces She Has Cancer


Elena
Baltacha ‘s tennis career was for the most part a battle
against superior forces such as illness, injury and
opposing players she admitted were far more talented.
Yet she made her mark by becoming Britain’s first woman
to figure in the world’s top 50 since Anne Hobbs 24
years previously. Now she faces a far more serious fight
after being diagnosed as suffering from cancer of the
liver.


 




Nadal Admits He Has A Bothersome Back Injury




Rafael Nadal admits that his back injury from the
Australian open finals loss to Stan Wawrinka remains a
problem and is draining away his confidence on serve.
The Spanish top seed scraped through in his opening
match of an Indian Wells title defense, beating Radek
Stepanek 2-6, 6-4, 7-5.



 


Out
of Indian Wells, Del Potro Hopes To Play In Miami


Juan
Martin Del Potro continues to be hopeful of his left
wrist will allow him to play in the upcoming Sony Open
in Miami after quitting mid-match in the recent Dubai
Duty Free Championships and then withdrawing from the
ongoing BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells after using a
doubles match to gauge his fitness.



 



Wawrinka Says Month Off Is What He Needed


Stanislas Wawrinka confirmed
that a long rest of nearly a month was exactly what he
needed to clear his head and prepare for a resumption of
tennis after winning the Australian Open. The world No.
3 Swiss last played the week after his Melbourne triumph
over Rafael Nadal, joining with Federer to help
Switzerland into the second round of the Davis Cup over
Serbia.



 


Hantuchova Hopes For Help From
New Coach Lundgren


Daniela Hantuchova will hope
that newly appointed Swedish coach Peter Lundgren can
help her recovery from a slump which has resulted in
three straight defeats. The Slovak who once stood fifth
on the WTA but now languishers at 34th and won the last
of her six trophy’s last June on grass in Britain,



 


Fed Cup Semifinal Set For Pat
Rafter Arena


Pat Rafter Arena will
host the Fed Cup by BNP Paribas semifinal between
Australia and Germany, to be staged over the Easter
weekend in April.

Overview:


This role is responsible for
driving our category strategies (within the Rqt Sports
Specialty Channel of distribution) to achieve our brand
and business objectives.  The Commercial Manager
leads GTM (Go-To-Market) planning (within our I2C
process) working closely with the Product, Marketing,
and functional teams to also develop the GTM Toolbox and
ensure alignment with our sales team for day to day
execution.  This position works closely with the
Global Commercial Director to develop the commercial
strategies and GTM framework, validate KBDs and align
KPIs to ensure the Commercial / GTM plan achieves
profitable growth. 


Understanding the market
landscape, including consumer targets, channel dynamics,
key accounts, competition, and managing effectively our
business objectives day to day are critical to success
in this role.


Essential Responsibilities:




  • Align the Commercial / GTM plan with our Global
    Brand objectives to maximize local sales and
    profitability


  • Develop the GTM Toolbox (sell-in / sell-thru /
    sell-out) working with our Marketing, Product, and
    Sales teams


  • Expert understanding of the category range, key
    products, end user benefits and the price/value
    relationship


  • Validate the range plan / mix to the consumer and
    channel target opportunities


  • Drive the local Assortment Plan and Pricing


  • Validate the Inventory plan and drive ongoing
    inventory action plans


  • Align KBDs and KPIs (working with the sales team)


  • Develop ongoing trade sales and promotional programs
    (working with sales team) 


  • Partner with Sales to identify business development
    opportunities within existing channel


  • Lead Commercial Briefings / GTM meetings and provide
    support for Sales Rep Launch meetings

Required Education and
Experience:

The College Park Tennis Club (CPTC) is
interviewing for a full time sales manager at its facility in College
Park ,MD, minutes from Washington DC.  


The CPTC is a premiere tennis club, a
USTA Regional Training Center and  home of the Junior Tennis Champions
Center and the University of Maryland tennis team. The CPTC is an
award-winning facility and is recognized as one of the most
comprehensive tennis venues in the United States.


Sales Manager is responsible for
generating new memberships and maximizing retention of existing
members.  Duties include internal and external lead generation,
networking, prospecting, tours, corporate outreach and promoting our
patented beginner tennis program, “Rally in 10”. Must be proficient with
all social media, including generating leads on our
websites, cptennisclub.net and jtcc.org. A tennis playing/teaching
background is preferred and an appreciation of the values of the sport
is mandatory.

OVERVIEW:


Wilson Sporting Goods

design and implementation of all digital and community based assets for
the Racquet Sports Division.  This hands-on role will execute the
development and implementation of digital materials that support and
improve the company’s online user experience while systematically
growing the brands reach and presence. 


Specific duties may
include:




  • Support the
    development, implementation and evolution of the Wilson Racquet
    Sports Divisions Business to Consumer (B2C) and Business to Business
    (B2B) online programs




  • Administer and
    monitor the businesses digital media strategies and performance,
    including scheduling, budgets and providing periodic status reports
    to management, and incorporating feedback to and from the executive
    level 




  • Administer and
    support the brands Social Media strategy and targeted marketing
    programs such as SEM, SEO, CRM, online media and other acquisition
    and customer retention programs




  • Administer and
    manage the scope of work with outside digital agencies and in-house
    marketing team to achieve critical online growth goals





  • Manage the user experience (UX) for

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE




  • Bachelors Degree

  • 3 years experience

    and against aggressive timelines




  • 3 years online
    support experience with a strong technical foundation




  • 3 years experience with online content management

A Collection of Tennis Images For Sale


A
professional tennis photographer has been shooting for almost 40 years
at all the major and minor tennis tournaments for the wires systems,
daily newspapers, magazines and advertising agencies. He has been to
venues all over the world and has compiled tennis images (archives) of
all the professionals and some juniors.  The images have all been
preserved in a temperature-controlled environment and are color
positives (slides), color and black & white negatives and contact
sheets, as well as digital. There are in excess of 400,000 images and
