Del Potro Decides To Have Surgery Now

After two months of physical agony and mental anguish, Juan Martin Del Potro has finally decided surgery is necessary to overcome the ongoing issues with his left wrist and now faces the prospect of not hitting another competitive tennis ball for the remainder of 2014.

 

Federer Is Planning His Attire 18 Months From Now 

One sure sign that resurgent Roger Federer harbors no signs of ending his career anytime soon - the fast-forward Swiss is already starting to consider the look he will sport on court for the 2015 US Open in 18 months.

 

Injury Forces Meyer To Retire Vs. Djokovic

Injury forced Florian Meyer to retire at the weekend at the Miami Masters, with the pullout sending second seed Novak Djokovic into the fourth round of the second Masters 1000 of the season.

 

If Things Donít Work Out, Miami Could Be Sold

The Sony Open in Miami would consider "going to the highest bidder" if it cannot make planned renovations to Crandon Park, according to tournament director Adam Barrett.

Tournament owners IMG obtained approval for a $50 million upgrade to the tournament facility, including expansions to the stadium and building permanent seating on three more courts.

However, a local resident has sued to prevent the renovations from going forward, and though the case was dismissed earlier this year, an appeal could continue hold it up. A central issue is the scheduled removal of the clay courts on the grounds, which has prompted objections from local players.
