- Cornet wins her fourth WTA title, having
also captured Budapest in 2008, Bad Gastein in 2012 and
Strasbourg in 2013.
- Having survived a match point
against Giorgi at 5-4 in the third set, Cornet becomes
the second player this year to overcome a match point en
route to a WTA title after Li Na at the Australian Open.
- The three-hour, 11-minute match is the fifth-longest
match of the year and the longest WTA final since the
three-hour, 12-minute Osaka final in October 2012.
Giorgi was contesting her first WTA final, having never
been to a quarterfinal prior to this week.

This was Beygelzimer and Savchuk’s first WTA doubles
title as a duo, with Beygelzimer now having three as an
individual and Savchuk two.

survived three match points in their semifinal win over
Klaudia Jans-Ignacik and Raluca Olaru.
Alizé Cornet: "What a match. It was
definitely a huge fight, which is what I expected, and I
had to save a match point to win the title, so it feels
very special. I gave everything I had. I'm so happy I
could win here at this beautiful tournament in
Yuliya Beygelzimer: "I think we
played against very good opponents today. This gives us
a bit of confidence for the future, knowing we can beat
players like this. And of course, it's a great feeling
to win the final. We're very happy."
Savchuk: "We have played together a few times and
had won an ITF title, but never a WTA one. We're really
happy to end the week like this, especially after
yesterday's crazy match."
