•    Guillermo Garcia-Lopez triumphed for his third title in six finals and first since topping Jarkko Nieminen on the hard courts of Bangkok in 2010.
•    Garcia-Lopez extended Spain’s recent run of dominance in Casablanca, joining Tommy Robredo (2013), Pablo Andujar (2011-12) and Juan Carlos Ferrero (2009) as the fourth different Spaniard to emerge victorious in the past six years.
•    The 30 year old becomes the fourth over-30 winner on the ATP World Tour this year, taking home $77,315 and 250 Emirates ATP Rankings points. He is projected to ascend to the Top 40 for the first time since 2011.
•    Granollers was bidding for his fifth career title and fourth on clay.

WHAT THE PLAYERS SAID

Garcia-Lopez
: "I'm very happy to win this title. I know Marcel for a long time. We practise together in tournaments. The match was really close."

Granollers: "It was a tough match for both. I think we played solid and I made a few mistakes. I didn't deserve to win the title...It was a big battle today and unfortunately I didn't win the match.

"I'm happy with the week. I won three matches. I go to Monte-Carlo with confidence and I will try to play like (I did) this week."
