BERLOCQ RALLIES TO BEAT BERDYCH; GONZALEZ/LIPSKY RETAIN OEIRAS TROPHY

After losing the first set 0-6, Carlos Berlocq converted on seven of 10 break point chances to defeat top seed Tomas Berdych in two hours and nine minutes. He beccame the sixth winner over the age of 30 this year.
Berlocq claimed his second ATP World Tour title, having won his maiden crown at 2013 Bastad (d. Verdasco).
The World No. 62 overturned a 0-19 FedEx ATP Win/Loss record against Top 10 opponents entering the week, ousting No. 9 Milos Raonic in the quarter-finals before his upset of Berdych.
Berdych was bidding for his 10th ATP World Tour title. The Czech fell to 9-13 in finals.
Defending champions Santiago Gonzalez and Scott Lipsky improved to a perfect 6-0 in ATP World Tour finals as a team. Lipsky also triumphed in Oeiras in 2009 with fellow American Eric Butorac.

WHAT THE PLAYERS SAID

Berlocq: "It's a very strong, very beautiful feeling [to win here]. It was a very special match for me. I didn't have any pressure to win and it's not my culture to conform to expectations.

"To win a title, and against a Top 10 player, carries double merits. To close the match the way I did was very emotional."

Berdych: "The first set looks easy, but it doesn't show what was going on. Carlos is a big fighter and he completely changed his game, finding a way to win."

Gonzalez: "To win six titles together, we've had a little luck but we're happy with this."

Lipsky: "As the tournament goes on, we get more and more sharp with every match. When the finals come, we are playing the best tennis of the week."
