Wawrinka’s Coach Trying To Keep French Open Pressure To A Minimum

Stan Wawrinka's coach Magnus Norman is keeping the pressure low around his man as the French Open start nears, with the 2000 finalist refusing to tip his world No. 3 client as anything more than a possible title contender. “I don't expect him to win the trophy," Norman told the Ubitennis website. "As in every grand slam, you always want to get past the first week, We will be ready for the tournament, that's for sure."

 

Evert Likes S. Williams’ Chances In Paris

Patrick McEnroe Takes Part In Media Conference Call About The French Open

ESPN tennis analyst Patrick McEnroe spoke with media about the French Open, which starts Sunday, May 25, on ESPN2 and ESPN3.

McEnroe on what it takes to succeed on clay:  “I think obviously movement is key.  What I like to call shot tolerance, which is understanding what shot to hit at the right time.  Clay just forces you to make better decisions more often.  Quite honestly, you need to hit more balls into the court to win points….The clay teaches you itself how to play and how to construct points.

Wilson Racquet Sports - Territory Manager

Wilson is the world's leading manufacturer of ball sports equipment.

The Wilson business is structured into three business areas: Racquet Sports, Team Sports and Golf.

We are currently looking for a Racquet Sports Territory Manager in the Tampa/Clearwater, Florida region. The Territory Sales Manager manages the sales efforts and operations for a defined territory to achieve and exceed revenue targets and market share growth objectives.

Essential Responsibilities

·         Achieve the annual territory sales plan revenue and distribution objectives in the defined territory and meet the annual key product category objectives.

·         Develop, plan, and execute a strategic sales plan in selling to and managing Team Dealers, Sporting Goods Retailers, Mass Merchants and other trade channels.

·         Maximize in-person contact and sales call coverage with assigned accounts, colleges, universities, high schools, travel organizations and leagues.

·         Recruit and manage high visibility teaching pros to enhance the promotion of Wilson Racquet Sports.

·         Increase Wilson’s brand presence and image with customers and consumers through promotional activity.

·         Develop annual business plan designed to deliver account objectives of assigned accounts.

·         Aggressively seek out and develop new business partners and accounts strategically within territory.

·         Keep Regional Manager informed of trade related information on an ongoing basis.

·         Develop and maintain great working relationships with key personnel in each account.

·         Develop layouts/merchandising concepts for accounts to ensure distribution/merchandising objectives are met.

·         Complete all reports and records on a timely basis.

·         Prepare and review each account’s performance in a business review each quarter.

Required Education & Experience

·         Bachelor’s Degree, equivalent work experience may be substituted

·         2-3 years sales experience in packaged goods or related industry

·         Tennis industry selling experience preferred

Qualifications, Skills, Abilities & Competencies    

·         Demonstrated ability to sell, influence and negotiate

·         Strong oral and written communication skills required within and outside the organization

·         Excellent organizational skills, analytical ability and strategic planning

·         Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Products:  Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point

·         Knowledge of SAP is preferred

·         Extensive travel required

·         Must have reliable transportation

·         Home office environment required

·         Strong knowledge of the sport of tennis and indoor sports
