•    The 30 year old notched his 11th tour-level crown overall and seventh on hard courts.
•    Borna Coric was first teen finalist since Marin Cilic won 2008 New Haven.
•    It was the Croat’s first ATP World Tour final.
•    Oliver Marach and Fabrice Martin survived three Match Tie-breaks en route to the doubles title.
•    The Austrian-French duo was taking part in its first ATP World Tour doubles event.

Wawrinka: “I’m really happy to win the match the way I played today. Again it was in two sets as it has been all tournament. The crowd was amazing. They give amazing support every year.

“I’m always trying to improve. I’m trying to move better, trying to play more aggressive with a better forehand and serve better. I’m very happy with my serve this week. I’m happy to get the trophy again. It’s a great feeling.”

Coric: “It was a great week for me here. I arrived a couple days before the event and got some great practise in the heat.

“Obviously facing Stan in my first final was a tough challenge. Nevertheless I’m very happy with my week and the start into the season.”

Marach: “Our main goal this week was to fight for every point, even if we were down. We returned well and used the momentum in our favour.”

Martin: “I will be playing in Melbourne with Oliver, we’ll see how it goes.”
