Eugenie Bouchard Tennis News

Former Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard is making absolutely no promises as her comeback to tennis after an autumn concussion continues to take shape. The Canadian who stood inside the WTA Top 10 in 2014 after a breakthrough year, fell flat in 2015 and is only now slowly finding her form. The 21-year-old is concentrating on putting her US Open locker room fall behind but looking only to her next matches.

The No. 37 faces a second-round challenge against fourth seed Agnieszka Radwanska in the Australian Open following a final last weekend in Tasmania, where she lost to Alize Cornet but began setting the course for her comeback.

“It was a tough turnaround from Hobart but that’s a good problem to have, that’s what I wanted to have, a lot of matches,” Bouchard said. “I had zero expectations. I have no idea what could potentially happen because I’ve had so much time off and experienced something I’ve never experienced before in my life. I’m just happy that I’m able to find somewhat decent form so far, but I know I have a long road to go.”

Bouchard cited her obvious main goal of staying healthy, “I’m just grateful to be back on court, I’ve missed this a lot. Deep down I know I still believe in myself and I have dreams I know I can achieve.”
