DEL POTRO ENDS DROUGHT; YMER BROTHERS WIN DOUBLES

– Juan Martin del Potro ended a 33-month title drought against Jack Sock in the final.
– The Argentine’s most recent tour-level crown had come against Bernard Tomic in Sydney at the start of the 2014 season. He now owns 19 tour-level titles.
– Sock, the new American No. 1, was on court for three hours more than del Potro entering the final.
– Sock also needed to recover from a titanic battle against #NextGen star Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals.
– Swedish brothers Elias Ymer and Mikael Ymer completed a fairytale run on home soil against Mate Pavic and Michael Venus.
– They are the first Swedish duo to claim victory in Stockholm since 1998, when Nicklas Kulti and Mikael Tillstrom triumphed.

WHAT THE PLAYERS SAID
Del Potro
“I’ve been trying to fix my problems for the past two years and I didn’t expect to win a title at this moment in my career. I am so happy to get the trophy here. It’s motivation for looking forward to the future.

“I don’t really mind the rankings or the numbers. I just want to play better. When I’m 100 per cent I know I can be dangerous.”

Sock
“It was a tough match. His serve is massive and very tough to read, which put more pressure on my serve. He just played well today. I’ve had a long week here and it might have caught up with me a bit.”

Elias Ymer
“I don’t think me or Mikael expected our first ATP title to come in doubles, especially here in our hometown of Stockholm. We had a great time and I really enjoyed playing with my brother.”

Mikael Ymer
“It’s been unreal. We clicked really well and played some great doubles. I’m really happy with this win and I’m excited for our future together in doubles.
