It was announced this week that Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) and Penn have decided to extend their contract and relationship. Penn will continue to be the official ball of PTR for years to come.

The partnership builds on the long standing HEAD endorsement with PTR which spans over three decades. Penn tennis balls, including the premium pro specialty-exclusive Pro Penn Marathon, will be the official ball for all PTR events, including the popular PTR International Tennis Symposium, and will include marketing opportunities for the organization and its 15,000+ members.

“PTR continues to show a commitment to improving the teaching pro through their innovative programs. Based on their goals, Penn is the perfect ball to use as Penn continues to be the dominant market leader and the clear choice of teaching professionals and their students,” said Greg Mason, President of HEAD USA Racquet Sports. “It just makes sense for two world class organizations to work together and we’re incredibly excited to continue and evolve our partnership.”

“Pro Penn tennis balls are the best tennis balls on the market – period,” said PTR Chief Executive Officer, Dan Santorum. “PTR members love having the PTR logo on such a great ball. We are thrilled with the extension of our agreement with Penn and hope to continue our relationship for many years.”

Penn is clearly the market leader with country wide distribution and an incredibly strong market share. This brand faithfulness has been built up through other endorsements such as USTA League tennis and the ATP World Tour which includes being the official ball of ATP tournaments in Indian Wells, Key Biscayne, and Cincinnati. This endorsement by PTR teaching professionals expands the list of key partners and will help fuel further growth of Penn and tennis nationwide.
