Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) is getting ready to kick off it’s 40th Anniversary.  Beginning with the PTR International Tennis Symposium in February and continuing throughout the year, PTR will celebrate 40 years of tennis teaching excellence.

The organization was founded in 1976 by acclaimed coach, Dennis Van der Meer with support from colleagues, including 2016 PTR Hall of Fame inductee Billie Jean King.  PTR is now the world’s largest international association devoted to tennis teachers and coaches.  PTR has grown from one general certification in the early years to five distinct education pathways today (10 & Under, 11 to 17, Performance, Adult Development and Senior Development).  PTR also boasts Level 3 and Masters of Tennis degree programs.

PTR is the largest global organization of tennis teaching professionals with more than 15,000 members in 127 countries.  It has the greatest percentage of multicultural and women members of any such organization.  PTR is dedicated to educating, certifying and servicing tennis teachers and coaches around the world in order to grow the game.
