The wait is over for Andy Roddick’s as the ex-ace’s wife Brooklyn Decker delivered the couple a baby boy last week in their hometown of Austin. Us Weekly magazine broke the news to the world of the Sept 30 birth. Decker had been a hands-on pregnancy case, sharing plenty of baby bump pictures on social media leading up to the big day.

The 33-year-old Roddick has always pronounced himself keen to start a family. Decker, a former bikini model and current actress, has called the ex ATP No. 1 “just the most clever person I’ve ever met.”

“Being married to Andy has given me a new appreciation for my body,” she told Women’s Health magazine in the early days of their marriage. “He’s taught me that it’s not how thin you are that matters. It’s how your body performs, how it endures wear and tears.”

No name for the baby has yet been released, though it looks likely that the couple have an exclusivity deal with Us, which is sure to be paying handsomely for the privilege of delivering new-born baby news in drips and drabs in order to best accommodate publishing schedules.
