Raveena Kingsley, 17, of Columbia, MD, upset second seed Cagla Buyukakcay of Turkey 6-1 6-1 Wednesday morning in the USTA Pro Circuit women’s tennis tournament in Rock Hill, SC. Raveena, a Wild Card, moved her opponent from side to side, using the entire width of the court, and set up short angle shots out of reach of her opponent in Round One of the Main Draw of the Rock Hill Rocks Open.
Raveena, who is attends the Dent Tennis Academy in Fountain Valley, CA, took only one hour and eight minutes for the victory. She will face Andrea Gamiz of Venezuela next in Round Two of the singles event of the tournament. Play continues at 9:30 am Thursday at the Rock Hill Tennis Center.
